A day in Palermo with Monreale

The capital of Sicily, Palermo, is a vibrant, lively city with many faces. With the many grandiose buildings (Norman Palace, Teatro Massimo, cathedral, catacombs, English garden, Chiese Santa Maria dell'Ammiraglio and the harbor district, to name just a few) one cannot stop being amazed.

The famous Palermo market, where you can buy almost anything, the shopping streets, the narrow streets with the typical Sicilian bars. This is where life takes place on the street. The many shops invite you to stroll, shop and linger.

Price: € 65.00 for up to four people

Our highlight: Cooking class in an agriturismo

A very special cooking class.

We will pick you up and take you to the mountains of Sicily. Once there, you will get to know the wild herbs of the area on a leisurely stroll.

Then you prepare your real Sicilian three-course menu under professional guidance. Then comes the nice part and enjoy your self-prepared dinner with a few glasses of wine. And maybe you will also be accompanied by beautiful guitar music.

Price: € 145.00 per person

Piazza Armerina-Roman Villa

About 100 km inland is Piazza Armerina.

It is not so much the city that is world famous, but the "Villa Romana del Casale". Built around 320-350 AD. It was buried for a long time and that's why it's so well preserved.

An imperial villa, with over 3,500 m² of well-preserved mosaics. They are considered to be the most beautiful and best preserved of their kind in the world. They were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997.

In addition to the mosaics, statues, capitals and gold coins were also uncovered. The pictures of the mosaics are unique and give an idea of the splendor of that time. You will be enthusiastic.

Madonie Park - Pollina

The Parco delle Madonie nature reserve is located east of Termini Imerese just after Cefalu. It extends over 40,000 hectares and is home to over 2,600 plant species.

Some of them are not found anywhere else in the world. The "Pizza Carbonara" is the highest point at 1,979 m, where you can hike through untouched nature and come to small, hidden villages.

One of them "Pollina" with a small but interesting museum "Manna". After a walk, we fortify ourselves with a typical Sicilian meal. You will be amazed.

But even here you can feel that the sea is not far away. Recommended for every nature lover.

Price: € 90,00 per person
